**As promised, here are both the campaign finance reports I filed with the MRGCD (4/25 and 5/24). I believe transparency and accountability are the responsibility of all elected officials and those running for office. You deserve to see who is supporting me and my candidacy.
Thank you for visiting my website!
My name is Barbara Baca and I'm running to serve on the Middle Rio Grande Conservancy District (MRGCD) Board for the At-Large Position (Sandoval, Bernalillo, Valencia and Socorro counties). The Conservancy, one of our state’s largest irrigation systems, should lead in water management and delivery efficiency to make the most of every drop of water in our desert environment.
Nothing is more important than water to our future. Water sustains our valley, it informs our identity and the agriculture it supports feeds our families. The Conservancy, one of New Mexico’s largest irrigators, must be forward thinking given the reality of climate change, extended drought, and water shortages. I am committed to making certain that our water is well managed today so that it’s available for future generations.
I believe my background, my professional experience and relationships along the Valley uniquely qualify me for this position. I encourage you to learn more about me here or to reach out to by phone or email.
The seven member elected Board has only one At-Large Board member and that person represents all property owners, rural and urban homeowners within the MRGCD boundaries. The election is on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 and I hope to earn your support.
